PREFACE

Bangladesh is passing through a very critical juncture of economic resurrection. Amidst speculation of post MFA developments, our economy is showing its strength. Political bickering over petty matters, lawlessness, frequent hartals, corruption, red tapism could not stop our growth. The private sector has started moving up in big way and its role in nations economic emancipation has already earned appreciation from home and abroad.

The silent revolution in our economic boom is mainly attributable to the relentless hard work of country's young entrepreneurs who are daringly stepping forward in the different sectors like Garments, Medicine, Property Developments, Hotels, Poultry, Services and so on. The fear of post MFA negative development is gone. Our products are evermore competitive in international market. Phenomenal export growth is visible. GDP has surpassed all the previous records. The possibility for Bangladesh to become a middle income nation is only a matter of time. Mr. Kissinger's ‘International Basket Case' is a forgotten history.

With this backdrop in current economic surge in the country we, the SMAH Group, can proudly pronounce that we are very much in this fast moving train of development. Starting with trading of coal in late seventies, we have spread our wings in the area of garments, poultry, agro processing, manufacturing and services successfully adding to the national productivity along with employment generation for some 2500 people.
